Strange Spyderco Endura

I had a guy powder coat a bow riser for me. It was textured similar to that. I think the light color makes it look like it has more depth. It might be a coating.

It almost looks like a rendered image.

I do not think that finish would be so difficult to make, but I am surprised to see the Seki-City and Japan markings perfectly surviving: so it indeed looks almost like a rendered image. I would even say: it looks like a rendered image.

I just wanna know why on earth they textured the edges and the inside of the Spydie Hole... That seems to make absolutely no sense and would make the blade a lot more painful on the fingers. I'm thinking photoshop as well...

looks like it was drilled, dipped in acid (sans the hollow grind part), then stone washed.
