Picked this grinder up at a yard sale on the cheap and I am wondering if anybody has seen one like it?

Those are low priced units to make up a grinder/wire brush/cut off to attach it to a motor you might have .Note that it doesn't have bearings but bushings instead from the oil cups. I had a similar set up at one time but it sprayed oil all over !!

Yes, just a arbor setup and a motor. They were how most bench grinders were made before cheap Chinese motors hit the market.

My grandfather had a similar setup in his shop years ago. When I first saw it I thought it was yet another contraption he had Jury rigged together... It was state of the art back when he got it though...

I like the old gang belt drive setups with old factory equipment... A big belt run off a main shaft, stepped down for the individual machine... I missed out on a restored lathe not long ago that was converted, but done so with a shaft on a rack over the machine to have that original feel.

Cheers. Cool find. Fix it up and use it as a buffer...

Grandpa had one very like it. I got my hand caught in the belt when I was about 10 or so. Took a bunch of skin off my knuckles. Still have some scars left from that adventure today. Always freaked me out after that.

A lot of years back I had one that I'm pretty sure was that one you show. I used it as a buffing machine.
