I asked this in G&G also but I'll ask here as it pertains to sheath making and such as well.

I'm getting into making my own harnesses, sheaths, slings, and stuff like that. I've decided to go with 3 inch webbing because I find it to be the most comfortable as it digs in less when supporting heavier loads like a rifle or small shoulder bag. The thing is... I'm having trouble finding harware to go on 3 inch webbing. Especially D-Rings... I got 3 inch tri-glides, 3 inch side release buckles, but can't seem to find 3 inch D-Rings. Anyone know a good source to find metal strap harware that goes up to 3 inches? I think I'm gonna have to deal with 1.5 inch to 1 inch sling hooks though... I don't think anyone makes anything that doesn't swivle (Which I hate on a sling) in 3 inch. All links, or info is greatly appreciated here.

If I can't find a 3 inch D-Ring... I guess I'll have to try my hand at making some in the old vise.

Making them would be a good thing. I'd suggest going to the local tractor supply/rural king and get a roll of #9 wire. that should make a huge pile of D rings strong enough to support 3" snatchem strap sheaths/harnesess etc
