Strap them into the poetry appreciation chairs...

You guys are better than Vogons! I knew I'd get some good replies if I titled the thread right.

The Vogon reference is sending mixed signals, but you did mention strapping critics to chairs...

No, perhaps the life of a poet is not for me. I see the good in the bad though: whenever I want to read my poetry to others, I have a captive audience waiting for me in Shelton. ;)

(Captive audience! I'm on a roll tonight.)

Your avatar is approaching poetry Dave, at least, it would make a good cover shot on a book of poetry.

The number of syllables in a haiku is not set in stone. Basho himself composed many with 8 or 6 instead of seven syllables...

With a name like Basho I imagine he could do what he wants . Its not set in stone because they used rice paper . Stop tempting me . I feel a Haiku headache coming on . I am not a fan of form in poetry . I fall victim to it enough already .
I must remain true to form . (Oh no , see what you,ve done ? ) L:O:L

Actually Danny it is very temting . It is just not for me at this moment .

Love the avatar too Dave. Good horror movie. Rabid insane posessed mother seal getting revenge on the humans for clubbing her cubs. Lots of beach scenes with unnecessary accidental breast shots. I miss those in horror movies.

Howard, your garden is beautiful. I hope it brings peace and health. It sure looks like it would. I wouldn't be suprised if you found your neighbors relaxing there sometimes. Really very nice. (I love gardening, and my grandmother used to brag that I had a green thumb. She was acutely biased though.)
