Even after doing research, I seem not able find what's the difference and how can you tell which is which?

Does anyone have pictures of the both for comparisons.

Thank you,

Jackie

Baer first began using this new resin impregnated wood material circa 1948 and called it "Propwood", then "Strata-wood", and in the mid fifties "Wonda-wood". This evolved into propriatary trade names Fibron and Pakawood. The resins and processes evolved over time, but the material is essentially the same. I'm sure that Baer wasn't the only manufacturer to adopt this material but he was one of the earlier ones. Boker U.S.A.'s George Schrade plant also used it circa 1956-58. Ernst Gerling in Germany was Schrade’s Wondawood supplier into the 1960's.

Note that both Fibron and Pakawood were trade names used by companies of those names. FIbron bought Pakawood, though I don't remember just when.

Thank you, Michael,

Thus, they are the same. I was wondering how I was going to differentiate between a 147 and a 147WW. There's no grooved handle stated for either. I guess, they’re one of the same. Darn, you Mr. Baer. Was he Jethro Bodine? He sure made collecting his knives confusing.
