Pehaps everyone knows what "tactical" knife is. Next step must be "strategic" knives... What would that be -- "tacticals", but "bigger and badder", SAKs, whith tools for major repair, or something else? or there already are some, then what are they?
Please, share your opinions...

A "strategic knife" would have to be able to be launched from hardened silos, submarines or SAC bombers.

I'd prefer mine to be MIRB'd, as well.

A strategic knife? The one from the movie the Punisher, when he shoots the assassin with an auto. That was neat. He also used a karambit in the end.

The strategic knife would prevent your enemies from making their own knives
:D

"Tactics" has a meaning. "Tactical," when applied to knives means anything you want it to mean - or nothing at all.

You have a great opportunity. You define "strategic" as applied to knives. No one can argue with you. :D

actually - if you want to be really strict about it, there should be something called "operational" between tactical and strategic.

so - what about an operational knife?

I believe that would be a knife which is not broken?

Then YOU, you lucky devil, get to define "Operational Knife." :D

(Don't get distracted by definitions of "working knife." That's no fun!:) )

how about a TACTOPSTRAT knife. so i guess it would be a knife used by a field surgeon to operate on a strategist durring tactical maneuvers.

TACTOPSTRAT -- now THAT is great!! Seriously, Tiewas, this worths a trademark registration. :) Pehaps this beast would inclue anaestizing blackjack, big jar of medical alcohol and, definitly, internet connection... Something worth having, it seems.

Alcohol goes in hollow handle.

Will it be available in "400 Series Surgical Stainless Steel"?

In the 1980s there actually was a "medical knife." A company called Life Knife had a smaller model, probably taken off the USAF survival knife, with a plastic hollow handle and a nylon sheath with a large (for the time) pocket. Rather than the typical supplies for a hollow-handled knife the handle and pocket were stuffed with first aid supplies. It was called something like the "Trailmaster Medical Kit."

Wait, wait!! Is an "operational knife" one carried by ( ) "Operators"? If so, there is a legendary line of such knives already "in the works." DORK OPS!!

Yes, the surgical steel is a way to go. It also must have black stealth coating, and be named...

"Covert reanimation/deanimation TACTOPSTRAT knife"!

Tactical, operational, covert, strategic, extreme duty.......all just names for a knife. :D

Me thinks the "marketing dept." has something to do with it...........

All this coming from a guy with a name like Paratrooper. ;)
