hey folks... how goes it.. we got in a few hours ago... the misses and i are beat... we still have some unpacking to do too...

( while not too survival oriented, here's some pics from our weekend.. the main focus was survivang a camp with 7 kids...)

the fall, strawberry music festival has come and gone.. it was amazing.. there was a really cool line up this year.. we were really looking forward to quite a few of the bands this year... we took almost 300 pics.. so i am going to just pic a few... here's the link to the site if you want to check the fall line up...
www.strawberrymusic.com

i don't think the trip could get any better... we have been going to this festival every year, for the past 5 years and we camp with the same folks everytime.. 2 other families, who are really good friends of ours, from here in santa cruz.. actually it seems that half of santa cruz county is there as well.. it's cool.. there are a lot of folks from this area there..

we left last wed. afternoon and drove almost the whole way there, from the bay area... the spot is a place called camp mather, which is located on the out skirts of Yosemite.. we camped out for the night and woke up at 5 am. to go and get in line... the line is always a drag..
here's the view of a nice meadow at dawn... we were in the same spot for a while.. we even brewed up some coffee to help with the wait...

this is "the 2 high string band".. these guys were great.. the fiddle player lives here in santa cruz... they're playing a small ampitheatre/stage, that is really cool.. it's nestled in a grove of pine trees.. they have bands put on small workshops here.. it makes for a nice intimate setting..

birch lake... always a blast on a hot day..

the knitters, playing the main stage in the meadow.... i love this band.. they ripped it up...

and some manditory knife pics...

this is one of my most used knives in camp... ML deep woods butcher...
everyone who cooked in the kitchen ended up falling in love with it... they all thought it was really old...

IMG_3107.jpg

i thought this was a cool pic.. there a ton of bikes behind the trees...
IMG_3139.jpg

Oh man, looks like you guys had a great time! I never thought of camping at a multi-day festival, that would make it much more enjoyable!

Wow water and trees. Good things for a festival.

So how was Peter Rowan?

Was Mofro good?

How about the Knitters.

I saw Missy Raines was there she's one of the top bass players anywhere!
