I have had my Fred Perrin designed Street Beat since August of last year and it has held up to use very well. I manage a local restaurant and bar while I am going to college. We are located in a bad area of town and I originally bought it to back up my handgun. I have used it in the kitchen and it is an incredible slicer. It has been used to open and break down hundreds of boxes. The handle really locks down the hand and the size is about perfect for most urban utility tasks. I have also taken it to the woods with me and it perfomed light work admirably there. Even with slicing lemons several days per week and being carried IWB the VG10 has not shown corrosion. I gets coated in light oil a couple of times per week. The handle is very comfortable for extended periods of time and feels secure even when wet. The sheath is pretty secure but that being said I would not carry it inverted. I took the tek lok off as soon as I got the knife and replaced it with a para cord IWB loop I made myself. I carry it in the appendix position. This is a very good knife for daily carry and also very pretty to look at. I know this was designed as a tactical knife, and is a good one, but it is also an incredible utility knife. The blade shape is a classic and well suited for a variety of tasks. One could definitely do a lot worse for an EDC fixed blade. If I could have my wish it would be American made, S30V, and just under 4 inches long but it is very good as is. I will definitely be keeping this in the rotation.
