Figured I'd ask this on the neutral forum rather than the SRKW. I like the blade shape of the howling rat better. But the scrapper's made of infi. Pro's and con's to help me decide, please? It'll give everyone something to do while we wait for the go go go :p . Thanks for the help.

I know that's the right answer. But I've been spending way toooo much on knives lately. I may have to sell one of my firearms to help pay for them   .

Both is the only correct answer!

Seriously though, that is a hard choice if your limited to one or the other, INFI plus Res-C on the Scrapper, but a more useful blade profile on the Howler. For a user I'd have to say the Scrapper, but it's close; too close...

Leave it to a Guinnea to sell a gun to go into a knife fight. ;) (Apologies to Sean Connery on that one. LOL)

I'm not 100% sold on the infi-coot style blade, but I couldn't resist the mudder handle.

I like infi better but on a knife that size its like comparing apples to apples. They are both tougher than you can imagine and you wont hurt either one unless you intentional destroy it. It really boils down to blade design and Micarta VS Res-c. I like the scrapper design better but prefer micarta. The HR design does not appeal to me so I went with the scrapper. The ultimate answer is buy them both and use the Busse motto.
No regrets

A true Busse lover would say Get The INFI!
So..... GET THE INFI!
Unless you want the other one.
That should give you some useful advice.
Seriously, I always prefer INFI because of it's corrosion resistance, but if I had to pick only one, I'd pick whichever was a more useful blade shape for me before I considered the steel. Probably.

For me the score is 4-0 for the scrapper.

I sold stock for this knife fight.

When the dust settles I will probably buy a HR but I'm waiting for a muddy version.

I'm starting to think the right answer really is both. But...with the intention of selling the one I don't like as much on here.

Another reason I like the HR, it has a thumb notch.

I just checked out the HR, and I'd have to say, based on blade shape, I think Howler is probably a better choice, UNLESS you're going to have for say back up self defense duty.

Howling Rat is cheaper and you'll probably get it next week.
Scrapper 4 is cheap, sexy infi.

You can't go wrong with either.. as long as you buy both.

Sigh, I got both. I hope my AK doesn't eat them. Now I need to get sheaths for them......Hey Dwayne.......:D

The thickness is the same for both, but since the HR is wider, you're going to get a better a slicer if that's what you decide. HOWEVER, if you need more strength, the wider angle of the scapper will be better for you.

I bought the Scrapper 4.

It promises to be a lightweight EDC blade.

The HR will be a more substantial chunk of steel, but it's not INFI steel.

It just depends on what you plan to do with the knife.

I bought both. The Scrapper as an EDC/utility knife in my briefcase and the Howler for walking around in the woods.

Drue
