street scrapper or Howling Rat Little Mischief ??

Personally, i got two scrapper4's and no new HR. I have a few of the older HR's and generally prefer (their) ResC to Micarta. Plus the INFI over sr101-

Basically, the scrapper 4 is an INFI-coot with a mudder handle.... and my INFI coot is about my favorite toy laying around...

EDIT: Lots of Howlers still in the store... NO More Scrapper 4's in stock at this time...

I guess this is a moot point now... now that Scrapper4's are gone...
but given the choice now... with all due respect, i would pay more for a secondary market scrapper4, or a Game Warden, or an InfiCoot or a second gen howler before the howler LM..

i just think the Howler LM missed the mark (for me). My one gripe is the choli size... i prefer bigger to be finger used (like second gen howlers)... the next choise is to be too small to use, but this inbetween size of the howler LM leaves a bad taste in my mouth.. personally...

I love my M6 (got a second one after the first as i was such a fan of her), but will be passing on the howler LM- anybody else feel this way? or am i crazy?
-btw, i feel this is the time to address this and speak up, and see if i am not the only one... as this design/cut of howler will most likely end up finding a place in the Busse and ScrapYard line ups as well

If the new Howler LM, after it arrives, has the same size choil as my first-gen HR, I'll be happy! I like my first-gen HR choil MUCH better than larger choil of the Howling Fat. Plus, for my taste, a larger choil takes up too much blade real estate on a small knife.

Infividual... er... "individual" choices abound for a reason. Some like mags, some like standards.

I wouldn't get too down on the Scrapper-4, they'll probably have more in stock in a while. Don't quote me on that though!

I bought both, but I think I'll prefer the HR-LM design better (YMMV). It's going into the combat vest carry consideration pile along with Strider and Simonich designs.
The Scrapper is a must-have knife though. And if it comes down to it, it'll be a great edc knife for camping, fly-fishing... Deciding between HR and Coot blade styles for 4" camp knife is dificult!

Servicemembers of all branches should seriously consider these sub-$150 knives. Considering that I paid a little over $200 on my slightly modified BAIII in late 2002, these knives represent incredible value and performance.

The forum over there at scrapyard has photos of the actual scrapper 4. It is logoed and says INFI under the logo with a polished spine. Extremely cool looking blade. I knew they would go fast but tehy went much faster than I expected. Glad I pulled the trigger on this one, hanging out with you HOGS has at least taught me that much! Check out the pics, they did a very good job with this one.

Those are the Scrapper pictures.

I like it a lot.

It looks like it might be a full height grind, it could be just as slicey as the Howler.

The howler is nice but I bought a couple Resiprene-C howlers about a year ago.

I just don't have an urgent need for more howler sized blades.

Chances are that the Howler will be a regular production knife so there will be plenty of oppertunity to buy later.

Infi mudders are currently not represented in my collection. When the package comes that hole will be filled at retail price.

It is logoed and says INFI under the logo with a polished spine.
I wouldn't count on the actual production knives to have a polished spine.
Also, they will not be logoed. I've read this in several places, however, INFI will etched on the blade.

Accordding to the SYKCO forums the original batch will be the only ones made from INFI, they will be logoed with INFI stamped on it and the spine will be polished. This is to distinguish them as the original batch. The design will be remade but without INFI or the polished spine. According to them, this is going to be one of the production blades but later batches will be made of SR77.

The pictures I posted are the real deal. WYSIWYG

They look great to me, I'm conflicted because I am planning to strip off the crinkle coat.

Yes, that was straight from Patti's thread. Those pictures are exactly what they will look like. I admit it was kind of confusing because the site did say they wouldn't be logoed, just stamped INFI. Patti's thread though specifically said what coyote just said and she supplied the above pics. Cool for us!

I was planning on stripping one of mine also. After looking at the pics though, I have changed my mind. They look better than I thought they would. This could be a great knife.

Sounds like they are gone for good. Guess we were lucky to snag one.

More from the Scrapyard post:

Here are some more pics of the INFI Street Scrapper. . . In order to differentiate the INFI Street Scrappers from other future runs of this model that might be made out of a different steel, we have added some pretty cool custom features. These include the Scrap Yard Logo with the word "INFI" under it as well as a satin finished spine. . . . ALL INFI Street Scrappers will have these features without exception.

When we make the Street Scrapper again out of a different steel, they will be sterile and fully coated.

The response to these blades has been amazing and the value of the INFI Street Scrappers is sure to rise.

Congratulations to all who got in on this one-time offer!

I think a lot of folks will tell you "not enough"

The Busse family of knife companies usually dont release production numbers so I bet you will be hard pressed to get realistic numbers

My CC has been hit for both the Scrapper and the HRLM, Yes, the waiting begins. I hope they ship sometime this week.

Droooooooooool!
