Stress

except I'm not sure about the bear-like shepard thingy. :)

Yeah, Tyr (one of my white shepherds) is a very large dog with a head as thick as a bear and a big, black nose similar to a bears. He's my polar bear. But he runs likes a bunny rabbit. Just watching him goof around is a stress reliever. He's a momma's boy. :)

Stress is a physical problem. MOst people don't understand that, or never knew it to begin with. Being able to properly deal with stress requires proper function of the adrenal glands. If you think you're poorly dealing with stress, this is how I approach it with patients:

1) Perform an Adrenal Stress Index, which is a saliva assay to determine levels of adrenal hormones in the tissues. This will reveal which of the three stages of stress handling you are in.

2) Apply the appropriate herbal and nutritional protocol. I have one for each stage of stress handling. Do it for 12 weeks and you're back to normal, then we work out a protocol for maintaining good adrenal health.

Pretty simple, but this is "functional healthcare" so your MD will likely scoff at it.

I really don't like lima beans, so when I get stressed, I take my Colt LWT. Commander and some cans of lima beans and head to the river for some R&R.

Thanks everybody...
I had nearly run out of 9mm ammo so I needed some other techniques...
I really do appreciate everybody's input...
I am going to go kill a water jug with a louisville and then chillax by resting my head on my girlfriends ample bosom while in the bathtub looking at my dog Bubba who also looks like a Polar bear.
Seriously though, thanks again all.

Chiro...any recommended websites/magazine/etc. that I can read further about this?

I don't buy that stress is a totally physical problem. A lot of psychologists will disagree with you.

Find a kid, any kid not your own...and teach it the "pull my finger" trick. :D

I'm sure you're right. I didn't, however, say that it is a totally physical problem. Every problem that occurs in the body is multifaceted, involving structural, chemical and mental processes. But, stress is a physiological response that involves physical and endocrine changes in the body. To deal with stress, if the organs involved are not functioning properly, all the counseling on earth will never help you. Read up on Hans Selye's work for what stress is and how it affects the body.

That's well stated Chiro. hell every mental illness shows physical/chemical properties in the body.
Stress being a mental or physical condition probably isn't all that important.
It's usually exercise and nutrition that's the best cure since side effects of all known medications make them the last option a person should consider.
