Stretch 2

Help! I'm undecided between a Stretch II and a Chinook III for EDC. I've played around with the latter, and while I like it a lot the ZDP and lighter weight of the Stretch II really appeal to me. Now brace yourselves for a stupid question... I prefer to snap (of flick or whatever, you get the idea) a blade open (yes I know it might be bad for the lock...) rather than open it using the thumb hole. Does the Stretch II open positively this way? The blade looks awfully light.

The blade is very light, I don't think it would be possible. At least I can not do it with mine :p

Damn. That's what I was afraid of. Guess it's the Chinook III for me, then. Or maybe I'll just wait for the Superhawk. :)

Thanks for the info!

How Rust resistant is the ZDP-189? I have a stretch on the way.
They say it's not as rust resistant as VG-10. However, I don't take any particular care of mine. I use it for food prep, wash it off, shake it dry, and put it back in my pocket. No signs of rust. I'd say if you take reasonable care of it, there should be no problem. If you want, or require, total immunity to rust, buy something in H-1.
