Stretch or endura in zdp-189

The ZDP Endura has a slightly longer blade and a less structured handle that allows a wider variety of grips and would suit large hands better. The Stretch is more compact in the pocket, has a narrower blade that can cut tighter curves, a more structured handle that fits my hand like a glove, and a 50/50 choil that allows you to choke up on the blade, but may not work well for those with large hands.

I know I want a knife in zdp-189. But I keep going back and forth between the stretch and endura. I know it's ultimately my own decision but I figured what the heck ask for some opinions. So which of the two of you prefer and why?

How are you going to use it? Is it for use or collection?

Here are some great Youtube videos that may help you decide.

You will notice in the ZDP189 video that M4 steel is mentioned.

I have recently acquired and become very happy with a Spyderco Gayle Bradley M4. It is stout, more so than either of your choices, IMHO. I like the carbon fiber scales better than FRN scales. I like the Walker liner lock. Did I mention it was stout?

Here are a couple of great videos about the Gayle Bradley, a very good bang-for-the-buck knife from this Scotsman.

Stretch, it probably has the best cutting performance (talking about ease of cutting not edge retention although that is good too) in its price range.

Stretch for the above reasons...

--best for medium-sized hands
--more ergonomic
--more aesthetic when closed/opened (choil)
--larger opening hole (14mm)
--higher blade to handle ratio

The blade length of the Endura is a mere 1/4" longer than that of the Stretch (3.37 vs 3.5").
The weight is the same.
The handle of the Endura is 1/2 longer than the Stretch so for large hands the Endura is the way to go.
I personally do not like the way the handle of the Stretch curves downward at the rear as it can be in the way and keeps large hands from crowding onto the handle. The Endura has endured for a reason. The Stretch is a great knife and the blade shape is better for a hunting/skinning/slicing knife. The Endura is used in self-defense classes. Both are great knives.
