Dude, we are! You even misspelled "lefties". ;)

On average, we're more accident prone and have accompanying shorter lifespans. YMMV

Your SnG or Mayo folder will have to be a custom order and, if Hossom starts making folders, he won't help you out (or maybe just me :) ). And, should you use scissors, they'll suck. So order that SnG and stop using scissors. SnG's are for civilized man, defenders of civilization, people who aren't scissors-using savages. Well, I don't own one yet, either, so that's just my guess...

For "Heavy Duty feild/utility" you should go with the AR. It's like a folding hatchet. I carry mine all the time and i've had no problems with it's size. You know it's there but it doesn't get in the way.

No, it actually IS a folding hatchet!!!

I used my Tac GB to hack off the top of a 1 1/2" diameter tree in our office. Went through like buttah... :D :D :D

Thanks for such an awesome knife, Mr. Strider!!! :)

As an AR(-Tac), GB, and 2x SnG owner, all I have to say is:

Let size be your guide.

:)

The liner on the AR/GB is super beefy to go along with the massive blade -- it's more like a frame/integral-lock that's got a G-10 scale layered overtop than anything else.

I agree....sort of...

I have a Tac GB and the thing has been with me EVERYWHERE in ALL types of clothing since I got it in June. (May?)

I have it with me everyday, even in a suit. It really isn't that difficult at all to EDC.

I always think that bigger is better, so get the AR and go bigger! :)

drjones,

LOL....to each his own -- or, as Mick said on "The Other Forum":

There's a seat to fit every ass.

For me, although I have an inherent love of BIG folders (my dream is to steal a Blackwood Skirmish off the secondary market some day), I find that for my EDC as a limp-wristed, pencil-necked, white-collar paper-pusher whose job/school atmosphere favors particularly more flimsy "dress" wear -- to be more suited to "lighter" weight folders, regardless of size.

:)

My current EDC is a RJ Martin Avenger. No small knife, by any means -- 4 and 1/4 inch blade, 9 and 7/16 OAL as compared to the AR/GBs 9 inch OAL and 4 inch blade -- but it's very, very light by comparison.

So I guess I should modify my statement:

For me -- it's about size and weight.

:)

With the AR/GB, they're not all that big nor excessively bulky -- but they combine that with being heavy. The tanks that they are, you can't blame them for it, but it's just a bit too heavy for my dress needs and that exacerbates their overall bulkiness.

For me, the SnGs ride along the perfect size/mass edge.

I'm gonna have to try out a SMF.

:)
