Appreciate the clarification...but it does concern me that there is no way to tighten up that pivot point as that area gets used/worn. Well, guess I'll find out for myself by getting one. My search for an AR continues...
Ah...excellent. While we're on the subject, do you have any AR's in stock at the factory or can you refer me to a local dealer who has them in? I've been striking out on all the dealers I've contacted.
The only place that I know of in the SF Bay Area is TAD Gear . They are over in Oakland, kind of in the Jack London Square area. Check out the web site and give them a call, because I don't think they currently have any, but the last time I was there they had a "display" AR that you could handle.
logan5,
Appreciate the info. I heard about them and reviewed their website. Might be worth a trip across the bay to take a look and handle one before I plunk down my $365.
spartan_ajax, I love my Edge Pro. It's perfect for full bevel ground blades, like the AR/GB or my little DB. I forget what I paid for it. BTW, TAD sells them for a good price.
Got an Edge Pro as recommended by L.O. and several others. The thing is a marvel! The only thing I would do different is get the video with it. It's easier for me to see what is going on than to read about it. Another note is to practice with buddies EDC knives and kitchen knives before screwing around with your $300 blade. Take your time, tape the blade, and work slow. Also add a marker to your kit and use it to find the factory angle.
Just finished a buddies Cold Steel Voyager and was able to get it sharper than any other knife in my life. Drug it down my arm and didn't feel the hair getting tuged so I thought I screwed up but I then realized I was missing a 4 inch long patch of hair! I almost hesitate to return it to the owner who will probably loose a finger.
