Description: Tactical tough and produced by Buck as a result of a collaboration with Strider Custom Knives. This impressive knife is designed to be reliable in even the harshest environments. This is the ultimate in tactical folders. Aggressive design and the best materials combine to give you a knife that will not let you down.

Well that’s the description you would find when the knife was still available. It’s changed somewhat since I’ve owned it. As with most of my for sale threads I just have to tell the story behind the knife. Yeah…just have to! :D When I had heard of the Buck/Strider and it’s monster size and fabled feats of strength I had to see it and decide for myself if it was Solstice worthy. After some serious research I found that it was worth the investment and I also found that a few were made of BG-42 and personally tempered by Paul Bos ( rather than him just overseeing the tempering). At the time BG-42 and Gin-1 were my all time favorite steels. They still rate in the top five, IMHO. So I decided if I was to buy one it would have to be one of the rare ones ( go figure ). Two models of this size and steel were made, the Tanto and the Spear Point. I wanted the Spear Point. Not too much of a fan of the Tanto blade shape. After having no results via the web, I went to my favorite Gunsmith/knife distributor and way in the back of one of his many knife cases was a #1 of 500 Buck/Strider…Tanto! I must have went back to him 3 times before I finally slapped down the $180.00 to buy her. When I got home I got busy fixing what I thought to be poor choices in design.

So here it is: The blade has been hand sanded to a satin finish, the ti liners have also been hand sanded ( ever hand sand ti? ), I even sanded the pocket clip and polished the brass bearings. Reassembled with blue Loctite ( they used RED!!! originally). This removed the very unattractive coating that was on all the steel surfaces before and gave the knife a really nice look. It did somewhat remove the rather large 1st Production Run 1 of 500 that covered one side of the blade. You can still see it if you hold it up to the light just right. I’ve included a pic of it. The Strider/Buck logo is still very visible as is the Bos BG-42 U.S.A. logo, which are on either side by the thumb stud. I put different edges on the whole blade making it much sharper and functional, again IMHO. Blade is dead center when closed. Pivot screws are tight enough for no side play and the knife swings open easily. It should, this blade is flippin thick and heavy. In fact the whole knife is just plain huge. Knife has never been used or carried.

SOLD
I’m asking $165.00 for her. USCON only. I’ll pay shipping and handling, USPS priority mail. I’ll accept PayPal ( same deal, add $5.00 ) or an USPS money order. For any questions or my PayPal email address, please email me at solstice621@gmail.com

Thanks for looking.
