Just curious about some numbers.
Do any of you carry a field utility strider as an edc? This excludes concealable backups and AR/GBs.
And if you do, maybe post your job description?

I'm just curious about how much heat a strider owner packs. :)

Nevermind, hell, if you carry an AR/GB or other CQB, post that too.

Most of the time my AR, but sometimes when I'm feeling like it I'll carry my WB in a IWB sheath. Take care. Dean

"I carry my AR all day 7 days a week."

Same here, thanks to Matt D. He sold me my S30V AR with "ambi thumb studs", getting it to me EXACTLY on schedule; my 4 year wedding anniversary...

My job description? Well, my title is "I.S.C.S.T.S.", which is corporate speak for "old GEEK".

However, thanks to Matt D, I should have another option very soon, my new ATS-34 DB!

Once again, Matt D has exceeded my expectations. This guy is great! Thanks again, Matt!

GB all the time, sometimes 2 GBs, sometimes one GB and a SLCC or EBT. I have a WB and BT on the way, I will probably carry them too.

G/B 24/7/365 was a Buck/Strider but now is G/B. As well as an older WB in a side bag w/ a Glock 26.
I am a strip club DJ.

Hey its a dirty job but somebody has to do it.

My EDC carry is a GB in the RT front pocket and a AR in the LT front pocket. As for fix blade I carry the AL from time to time. When I am on a dive recovery call out I carry my BT.

I almost always have my GB in my pocket. When I am on duty, it sits in a SOE sheath right next to my handcuff case. If I leave my GB at home, then I have my HT with IWB kydex sheath on me, with a loose fitting shirt.

EDC for me is Strider GB, in kydex sheath.
Strider SA in kydex sheath reverse grip draw.
I occasionally carry my old style circa 1998 WB in its SOE sheath.
I work as a civilian contractor at a local AFB.
So knives are cool.

hey thats interesting, more of you guys have/carry GBs over ARs.

Any particular reason why you take tantos over drop point?

Im jealous. I want an AR. No use, however, local laws prevent me from having folders over 3 inches.

Midget,
I carry a GB because I feel its a better work knife. I found the tip on my AR a bit to thin, so I changed to the GB. I carry the GB as my up front (people see it all the time) work knife. I tend to hammer the tips of my knives so far the Strider Tanto Tips have held up very well although the spear points hold up really well also.
My SA is more strictly just for defense, not a beat it up use knife.

In my job I have to puncture a lot of material at time

You carry over 700.00 in knives on your person. I bet you kick a lot of ass. If I had two folders, I would try my hardest to kick ass. All the time. What profession does 'dive recovery' correlate to?

My SA is wrapped up in a military sock, and then put in a Crown Royal bag.

Midget,

I am the most easy going person in the world. I am a LEO. I do recovery diving for are Sheriff Dept. My job is to recover lost bodies in drowning to evidence recovery. I know I carry expensive tools. I believe in carrying the best tools that I can buy. I also work three jobs to afford my Strider addiction.

Job 1: LEO

Job 2: Instructor at a LEO Academy

Job 3: I teach defensive Tactics to other Agency as a private contractor.

you recover lost, drowned bodies? *shudder.

my friend had one of those big hooks they use to scrape the bottom of the rivers/lakes for bodies. he hung it from his rear view mirror.

the worst part was it was used.

I know you said to exclude the AR's, but I carry my AR 24/7. This will cahnge when my SnG comes; the AR will ride in my blue jeans, and the SnG will ride in good clothes, and places like the office or church.

I usually carry an AR...the other times an SA. On waiting list for SnG. Carry MFS in the field on S/R operations.

Jeez, you guys can't read.
The question said "This excludes concealable backups and AR/GBs."

I myself carry a GB every day. :p
