I'm constantly watching ebay for Striders, mostly out of curiosity but I do own 4 and want more so I keep my eyes open for any deals. I've noticed that sellers use Striders rep for shoddy F&F to list obviously used, old, beat up Striders as "New Other, or New lightly carried". New knives, even pre 2012 Striders don't usually have scratched up pocket clips, scuffs all the way up the blade, scratch lines on G10. I know some fnut is going to say "I've seen Striders come worse than that straight from Strider" Well I haven't and I owned a bunch through the years. A small scuff on the blade or machining on the underside of blade tang is the worst I've seen. Just bothered that guys try to sell carried and used as new. Nobody is going to pay you $530 when the knife you're selling retails for $475!

EBay is a bad place to buy. The price is inflated because of the fees they are charged. That said, striders did have an avg f&f but usually that was on the blade as you say and it was coated blades mostly in my experience. However since this year, can't say anything wrong about them. They upped their game big time and their f&f is as perfect as it can be. Had a 3v sng and that thing was immaculate

Heard countless times from the "Other Forum" to stay away from Fleebay.

I always look here or the other place when I want to buy a knife second hand. Always. Knife people are a safer bet to buy from in almost every case ;)

Perhaps it is a reflection of the type of User base that Strider attracts?

No.
When I traded for an SmF, the knife was represented as it actually was.
The trade was fair.
The shipping was fast.
Communication was good.

Of course, I did it through a knife site, not an auction site.;)

I have seen these listings as well. Almost leeds me to believe that they come beat to shit out of the box. Glad to hear they are really shipping out a good product. Have yet to get one yet buy I may give them a try.

I agree I check forums almost every day. I want a SMF CC Green or Black stonewashed, there is an old one on ebay for $795...WTF?
