Strider fakes!

I saw this on another forum, but everyone here should have a chance to know too. These are well simulated rip offs, and could easily fool an unwary buyer.

Mick Strider himself said that (other than the box) he would have believed it was his if not for the BOS stamped blade on a DGG handle. There are other versions, including a Nightmare Grind.


Be cautious buying Striders on the secondary market
 
What really gets me in this is the skill required to knock off a good knife to this extent (either the SMF or Sebenza) should allow him to make a good knife with an original design.

Yeah, but if there's more money to be made in Strider and Reeve knockoffs, that's what they'll make. It is legal in China (different country, different patent laws and all that) and there's obviously a market.

Every new or unused Strider I have bought has been shaving sharp. That includes a BN SS "sharpened pry bar".

This is my most recent, a Marissa Strider custom. I couldn't get it to shave hair only because I was afraid that I would completely remove my arm (well, maybe just some skin)

If you want to talk sh*t take it elsewhere please.

but seriously yeah knock offs happen, thanks for sharing
 
It's all good my man, I understand you paid good money for your Strider knives and feel strongly about it. Life is too short and fragile not to be a little playful. Hopefully nobody gets a fast one pulled on them with fakes of any knife.

2: That has no place here, this thread is a simple heads up about a fake that nearly fooled the company owner.

3: Mick has explained all of it himself and it's not my place to tell his story. I will say this, according to the linked images, at the very least Mick spent half a year as an honest to gods infantryman. That's a hell of a lot more than most so called Americans have ever done.

4: My personal take on any of this is not relevant to this post. If you would like to know feel free to ask privately.

You're right. That link really didn't have a place in your thread. Sorry for stepping on it. I've withdrawn the link. Maybe we'll discuss it another day in another thread.

no need to hate in an informative thread. some people dont like strider, thats life

i happen to have them as my go to knives and they out perform everything else ive owned. and as far as the sharp comment... you never owned one have you?
