Strider GG DB Tanto w/Carpenter PD-1 Steel & Custom Pocket Clip for Sheath (great for front pocket carry)

Total length: 7.25"
Blade Length: 3.25"
Blade Thickness: .190
Blade Steel: Carpenter Micro Melt PD-1 Steel
Handle: Gunner Grip Black G-10 handle
Sheath: Kydex Sheath with Tek-Lok belt clip attachment
Weight: 5.9 oz. (Knife alone...not including the Kydex sheath)

**Custom Sheath Pocket Clip for front pocket carry. (Made with a black Micarta back plate <screws to sheath> with a black G10 clip and held together with brass pins)** This keeps your DB in place when carried in either your front or back pocket (or even jacket pocket), the top of the clip gives you a place to push off of so as to easily remove the DB from its Kydex sheath. These are very popular on the Strider forums as many are EDCing their DB's.

The original Kydex Sheath can be used with Custom Pocket Clip or with the original Tek-Lok that came with it.

About Carpenter PD-1 Steel:
It all started years ago with VascoWear manufactured by Teledyne Vasco which was an incredibly tough alloy. Crucible Steel then later came out with their version called Cru Wear (slightly different formula). With the advent of the powdered metal process, Crucible then applied this superior process and further tweaking the mix to create CPM 3V (which we all know and love). Fast forward to now, and Carpenter Steel has gone back to the original VascoWear formula and updated it and applied their modern Micro-Melt powder metal process to it to create PD-1. Duane says PD-1 is supposed to be very comparable to the CPM 3V with the difference being the carbides. It is supposedly the same toughness and maybe a BIT better in wear resistance than 3V. Again, not a stainless, so corrosion resistance is also on par with 3V.

This DB has been used over two weekends while helping my son move into a new house. Its sliced up/broken down a huge house worth of big boxes and worked wonderfully. This DB has ONLY been used to cut/slice, its seen zero abuse and has not been used for batoning and prying (not that either would harm this tank).

I have a couple DB's and I found that if you remove the Tek-Lok the sheath fits great in your front jeans pocket while taking up less space than many of my heavy duty folders. I now always keep a DB in my 3-4 knife EDC rotation, and I can't imagine another knife that fits in your front pocket so easily that would be stronger/more reliable than the Strider DB in either 3V or in this case PD1.

This GG Tanto DB w/PD1 comes with a custom made pocket clip (cost $40) that I paid a member of another forum to build for me, and it uses the original Tek-Lok screws to bolt onto the sheath in the holes that were already in place.
