Picked this up at a huge gun show today. I know nothing of Strider fixed blades and need some help identifying this blade.

1. I was told by the guy I bought it from that he bought it in Arizona at a gun and knife show in 2006. Did Mick make knives prior to 2006?
2. I was also told that sometimes Mick makes 'one off' customs and some unconventional blades. Is that true?
3. Model # or custom? I can't find it anywhere on BF or the net.
4. Is it real? A fake? I want to know either way.
5. If it's real, what is the value?
6. It says, 'M Strider'. Could it be made by Marisa Strider and not Mick?

Oh boy... I might be wrong here....But that looks like a fake. Fun shows are notorious for selling hot off the cargo ship counterfeit Striders, that looks like one. Only custom Striders have the name engraved. The "Made in the USA" is also a giveaway, never seen one on any Strider knife. The fonts overall look really, really off as well; as does the "flying penis". Hope I'm wrong, but if I'm not, I sure hop you didn't spend a lot of money on that piece of 440C/8Cr/mystery steel knife.

Something definitely does not look right. Like rev said the strider symbol looks off as well as the made in USA. Hope I'm wrong.

Thanks Rev and Gizler. I hope more Strider guys chime in. I'm pretty sure it's a fake and no, it wasn't a ton of money. It is a cool looking blade and will be nice to hang around the shop in any case.
We'll see. :D

All ID markings are either lasered on or painted. Authentic Striders are stamped. The customs have a hand engraved signature, not a laser signature.

All custom Striders I've ever seen have a hand engraved signature one, not two, not lasered or painted on. There is never a USA made label on it, as that is pretty much a given. When buying items that one knows little or nothing about, an authorized dealer is the best place to start.

I bet if you email josh at strider he will get you squared away. If is wasn't a ton of money, it might just be like you said. A cool blade to have around the shop.

But who knows, you might get lucky!

Thanks again Rev. It was not a lot of money. In other words, knowing when seeing the price (and I have seen real Strider folders) I knew it was 98% fake. On the other hand I've found highly collectible traditional folders (worth 10-50 times what I paid) in the $2.00 bin at the fun shows when gun dealers had zero knowledge about knives and simply didn't care what they had. Similarly, I once bought a $1500.00 Parker shotgun at a garage sale for $5.00 (yes Five dollars). It was a small enough dollar amount to justify the expense and the cool factor alone was worth what I paid for it.
I joined BF for many reasons. One of those is the people and mods here and the vast amount of knowledge available here by members who know infinitely more than I do. Now I have more info on Striders and a lesson learned. Thanks again to everyone.

Oh, and my last two 'real' knife purchases were from our great BF members Derrick at Knives Ship Free and Guy at Survive!Knives. :D

Weird, I can't find this knife anywhere. Normally when one of the Chinese companies makes a fake, they make a large quantity to keep production costs down. There is lots of info and photos on the web about fake, clone, and counterfeit Striders. I can't find this blade anywhere.

I emailed Strider Knives to get some info on it. I hope others chime in on this thread as well.

Next month we will know the answer :p
