About a month ago I messed up my DGG SnG.....big time!

I'm a mod nut and decided to try my hand at acid etching, yeah, for the first time.....on an expensive knife. Well, needless to say I messed it up. Bulges in the steel around the pivot had formed and when the detent ball traveled over them it felt like a mess.

I shot Strider an email, next day I get a "send it in".

Today she came back better than ever. Absolutely beautiful and couldn't ask for a better experience. The knife is better than it was new!

Thanks Strider:thumbup:

I talked to him tonite about this knife, and he is much obliged to Strider Customer Service. I don't know of any other company that would take in a piece of junk and send back a new knife (in effect), with a new "super-steel" blade, without a charge. Some C.S. companies that we hold in high esteem would not likely do this, even for a charge. Regardless of what we hear and read of certain old "war stories" within the Strider organization, I would say "Let their actions speak for them."
How many of us haven't screwed up in the past, in one way or another?

I have had a few similar experiences with Strider where I messed up my knives doing dumb stuff and Strider completely fixed them. That's one reason I continue to buy their products. They are a top notch business.

I also have had excellent service from Strider. I had a SJ-75 that developed lock rock sent it in and it came back again with lock rock. Emailed Mick and he told me he was sorry and that he would personally take a look at my knife, he ended up replacing my lock side with a new one, he gave me a choice between a stonewashed or the original lock side ended up switching for the stonewashed lockside, also he gave me a Black G10 scale, instead of my original green one, because i thought the black scale would look better with the stonewashed lockside. The knife came back absolutely perfect. My experience with them was that they were the best customer service I ever had. I also think it was cool that Mick personally put together my knife, literally perfect no lock rock at all, no lock stick at all, and early lock up.

Not to worry when Strider Service is involved. I once bought an Exchange Strider that had the tip broken off and reground. It went thru several owners before I bought it and discovered the "fraud."
I sent it in to Strider. They discovered it had been filled full of Loctite and they couldn't even get to the pivot by heating. They ended up drilling out the pivot, installing a new updated pivot, and regrinding the blade like brand new. NO CHARGE.
I am keeping it in my EDC case now to give to my youngest grandson.
When Strider says that they warranty your knife..."FOR THE LIFE OF THE KNIFE"... they really mean it.
Their customers are their very best advertising. Buy with confidence! My well-founded opinion!

I must admit, as one of the naysayers regarding their warranty...my opinion of them is changing for the better. (Based on the reputation of those in this thread) If I have an issue, I'll email them/send it in instead of selling/trading it...

Im in the boat where I believe credit should be given when its due. Doesn't matter what your opinion of them may be. If something is
done right it should be acknowledged for what it is. Striders communication is probaby less than par but you are in good hands when you send a knife
in for warranty work. Your not going to get the hold your hand service but if your knife is messed up for ANY reason at all they will fix it.
Broke your blade prying open a door and they'll fix it. Run over your knife with a truck and they'll fix it. r

Could one of the guys that has had their strider worked on tell me about how long it took for them to get your knife back to you from warranty work?

10 days turn around on my DDC SnG CC. YMMV. And I didn't email, phone, etc. Just sent it off with a note on what I wanted done.

Thanks for the answer Matador, I sent in a SJ-75 for lock failure a little over a month ago and still waiting.

Good to hear others experience!

Hey guys, forgot to mention, blade went out in S30v...came back in D2!!

Good to hear....I just send them my NSN bout 3 weeks now....do they email and let you know when they send it out? iDK it's my first time sending in to strider.

Surprised to hear about this as they have stated many times before that they wont work on knives that have been 'modded'. Must have caught em on a good day.

I've always thought the knives were a bit pricey, but after seeing how great the customer service is I note think they are worth every penny!
