So i finally ordered myself a strider, my first one. A strider smf CC 3/4 grind, ranger green in s30V. Cant tell you how badly I wanted this knife!! I put the order through (wont say what website..), paid the $550 and sat back to wait. Then I notice that order wont stop pending even after a few days, so I call them to ask em why, and they tell me that there was a mix up and the knife I had ordered went to a knife show and got sold their instead. I'm not pissed at the dealer or anythin, mix ups do happen but was just super disappointed. Haven't been able to find another strider in that config since then :(
I want a STRIDER ahhhhhh!!
an btw the dealer immediately refunded the money an everything so no issues there, I am just striderless at the moment..

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. I recently had a similar thing happen to me, but it was not Strider related. Long story short--what i had wanted for a long time, saw for sale, and bought, but was then then snatched away by the Seller as already "Sold". Oh, oh, oh, bummer Dude!
So, I feel your pain. But what can you do? Just keep truckin', my friend! I just have to believe that the right knife will hook up to you at the right time. I certainly hope so anyway! Best of luck.

That's rough luck. I'm sure you'll run across something you love, just have to keep your eyes open and be diligent. I'm a lefty and finding anything in that configuration means I have to spend 10 times as long looking, but in the end you know your trophy will be worthwhile. If that is exactly what you want, I'm sure you will find one.

NOOOOOO!
i've never handled one but from what I'v heard an seen bout them they look great! would be curious to know what you don't like about them?? i agree the price is ridiculous but i figure a buy one an if i like it, its warrantied for life, and if not the resell value aint that bad..

Lots of folks have issues with strider outside of the knife, warranty, or normal ancillary knife issues. I'm sure someone will point you that way, but regardless of how you take all that they make a good knife. If you've done your research you know what you are getting, and few people would argue that they aren't exactly the knives they claim to be.

I have 3 Striders, all were and still are perfect.
All exceeded my expectations.
Plus they're worth at least or more than I paid for them.

You won't be disappointed.

Some people don't have a problem with the knife but the people. Some people do care about a persons honesty which is where the issues come from though these days most don't as long as they get a knife they want.

Though you also used to hear issues about the warranty. It was hard to get ahold of them and if you didn't follow some unwritten process they would get pissed off and ignore you further. There were videos on YouTube about how to actually get warranty work done. Maybe things have changed but you can search here and find all the things people have issues with. In fact a lot of the owners lies are saved here in the forums if you go back far enough before they were banned.

Do Not listen to the hate I got my first strider( a custom sheath knife) in 98 and I currently have a db -l and a SMF what ever ppl say about mick strider they can keep saying it ill keep not listening Mickey ray Burger could join the Chinese army and put a kazoo in his butt and fart songs and I will still put my life on the line with a strider knife in hand.good luck on your search for the configuration you want

Even if you order from a dealer, you may want to make sure that you're getting the new lock up. Some still have old SMF stock. You may want to wait for a Z-wear SMF. I'm sure with how well the Z-wear SnG's have done an SMF will follow.

Hey, I have a history in special ops (if stealing cars is special or ops) and I make knives that should be suitable for war seeing I was able to break into a car recently with one. Interested? -MRB

Sorry, I couldnt resist. :D

Amazing how a thread that had nothing to do with questions or opinions about Strider knives or the company, simply an online order...brings out all the immature comments to bash Strider. I don't recall the OP asking for opinions. Reminds me of Junior High. OP happens to like that particular knife and is merely bummed his order didn't go through. No need to start telling him that he's buying a crappy knife from a crappy company or whatever. Why do people feel the need to rain on someone else's parade and kick them when they're down.

If you don't like Strider or the knives...cool...but why need to make negative comments about the knife the OP wanted to order. It's his purchase. Sounds like OP has done enough research to educate himself on if that knife will be a good fit for him.

To the OP. That is unfortunate about your order and can be frustrating. One good thing is that Strider has been releasing many different steel configs lately. You may be able to find the same scale color/config you're looking for, even in S35 or CPM-154. Keep your eyes open and check with the regular dealers. You could even contact some dealers and ask them to let you know when they get that config in. In my experience, there are many good, accommodating dealers who will keep their eye out for what you want if you let them know.
