Strider Order FAIL!!!

Amazing how a thread that had nothing to do with questions or opinions about Strider knives or the company, simply an online order...brings out all the immature comments to bash Strider. I don't recall the OP asking for opinions. Reminds me of Junior High. OP happens to like that particular knife and is merely bummed his order didn't go through. No need to start telling him that he's buying a crappy knife from a crappy company or whatever. Why do people feel the need to rain on someone else's parade and kick them when they're down.

If you don't like Strider or the knives...cool...but why need to make negative comments about the knife the OP wanted to order. It's his purchase. Sounds like OP has done enough research to educate himself on if that knife will be a good fit for him.

To the OP. That is unfortunate about your order and can be frustrating. One good thing is that Strider has been releasing many different steel configs lately. You may be able to find the same scale color/config you're looking for, even in S35 or CPM-154. Keep your eyes open and check with the regular dealers. You could even contact some dealers and ask them to let you know when they get that config in. In my experience, there are many good, accommodating dealers who will keep their eye out for what you want if you let them know.

Because Mick Strider is a dishonorable person who lied to everyone to gather a fan base who thinks he's some sort of special ops guy.
He manipulated and lied, he got caught and sued, and is still reaping from the rewards of his con.
Bad guys shouldn't win. Period.

Take it as a sign.

edit- nevermind my above comment.
If you want one, just keep looking.
I'm sure you will find one soon. Good luck !

Some people have strong feelings toward crooks who lie about their military service in order to sell their product.
Not to mention car-jackers.
Not everyone knows their history, so it's our job to inform ;-)
The Strider boys will be living in this pathetic shadow for the rest of time.
They may produce good knives with a good warranty, but they won't be getting my $.

It's great to hear that the dealer took care of the problem and apologized. Usually the internet is full of complaints and "out of context" bashing. Hopefully you'll be able to fulfill your needs on the knife search.

Amazing how the Strider kool aid is so strong that it makes you read things that aren't there.

Where did the first person say anything bad about the knives and "kick them when they're down"? My eyes didn't see the first person say the knives were crappy, even after your rant. I'm the main person that said something before your post and my comments really weren't that negative or "bash" on Strider. I said they lied and people had issues with the warranty in the past. Both very true statements. And that caused you jump up and down ranting about the injustices and slander against Strider when not the first negative thing was said about their knives. Your post is the one that is a bit ridiculous. Of course if someone did say something negative about their knives someone can provide a quote.

Some people care when a felon lies about their military career and a lot of people don't know about it. Mentioning that they lied so a person can research the company's past and come up with their own conclusion really isn't a big deal. Your post really drove the thread off topic and brought up their past.

I love my new SMF CC

It's going to happen till the end of days, so best bet is to save yourself from an ulcer and get over it.

All I can say to this is that this is a forum. An open forum to be more specific. I think we all have to agree that there will be different opinions on any topic. And no ones opinion is any less valid than another regardless of whether you, I or another guy agree with it or not. In other words being an open forum it really doesnt matter if the OP asked a question or not. People are entitled to their opinion. And if the the OP didnt ask a question and therefore no one is allowed to comment if it isnt in line with his desires then we also have to remember that no one asked to be defended either. Me on the other hand think it would be a pretty boring place if all we did was powder each other behinds and agree on everything.

Now about Mickey Ray Burger and the debacle that happened a few years ago I do understand that you or any other fan of strider may be less than thrilled with certain responses in this thread. Heck even some non fans of strider might be thinking that the horse has been dead for awhile and its time to let it lay. But the problem I see with that is it gives a chance for strider to continue to deceive. Because while the information presented in this thread is able to be viewed in many other threads you wont find it unless your looking for it. And you wont know to look for it if you havent heard about it. And you wont hear about it if people never bring it up. Therefore a little reminder now and then doesnt hurt as long as it doesnt get out of hand. Because I guarantee you that at least one person is going to look in this thread and have never heard of the issues about strider and thats they way strider would like it. But I would rather people be informed on all facets of their choice of purchases, good and bad. Because that is truly an informed and unbiased decision. The one that gives you all sides.

Strider makes some pretty decent, tough knives. There are a lot of people that don't like them, and that's fine. But if you like the knife, try it. You just might like it.

I too have been chasing a certain strider in a certain configuration, I wanted a SMF DGG tanto, but couldn't find one anywhere, I believe in my search for that knife though I may of found the knife you are looking for shoot me a pm or email and I will tell you where all I looked and maybe the knife you want is on one of these dealers websites.
