Strider PTs, where did they go?

Does anyone know if Strider is going to make their PT knives again. I own different versions of the SNGs and SMFs and they've been outstanding performers, just would like to get my hands on one of the small guys.

Good question...Sold my PT about 5 years ago and would like another but theyre more scarce than they used to be. Were they discontinued??

When-only they know, but I am sure they will make some more. Batches of the PT's seem to be made less often in the rotation.
Another ? is will you be aware of there availability, before they are all gone. They can go fast.

The PT and Baby Huey are my favorite Striders by a very long way.

The last time I saw PTs available new and you had a few options available to choose from was mid 2013 when I picked up my CC.

And because all threads need photos ......

I believe they made an exclusive for GP since then that had a swedge (production PT's and CC's not performance)-but I am poor at remembering how far back things happened

Thanks for the replies everyone, now I'm really wanting one. The - you always want what you cant have syndrome. How about a 3" Hinderer? I could really go for one of those too but it seems like those makers put the smaller knives on the back burner.

The Hinderer 3" is out of rotation now also, but is a very nice knife. I prefer the 3" XM-18 non-flipper(discontinued) to the PT. It fits my hand a little better then the PT. On the flip side I prefer the SnG to the 3.5" XM-18. But they are both just personal preferences and there is nothing wrong with choosing the opposite.

I'll contact Hinderer and see if they'll make one for individual sale on a 3". I wont bother with Strider as they never answer e-mails. I have a Hinderer XM-18 3.5" and its a beautiful knife I carry in town, but my Strider SnG is my go to woods knife. Sng works great for gutting deer and even skinned a few with it. Now just to really test it out I cut down a 14" diameter maple tree with it and the edge was still sharp for working, Carpenter PD#1 steel. Not sure if I can pot pics as I'm just a registered member.

I purchased a PT 9-2015, and bought an aftermarket deep carry pocket clip, made the knife even better, in my opinion the factory pocket clip makes the knife an awkward carry clipped to the pocket. But I am also a fan of the 3in non-flipper XM-18, its hard to find but defiantly worth the effort. You won't be disappointed in the XM, but you might be disappointed in the PT.

Go to imgur, download the image, copy and paste the bbcode

There were a bunch of Strider PT and PT CC available around August 2015.

For a nice folder with a 2.75" blade like PT there are also CRK Inkosi and Koenig Zenaida (made by Millit). Inkosi is readily available but Zenaida not so much.

I do have a XM 31/2" and its a beauty. To have a 3" model would make me very happy. If I was fortunate enough to have the choice between the two I just might have to go with the Hinderer. But I guess I'll never get a chance to have both in front of me to choose from so I'll make it a quest to acquire both. I love both my Sng CC and XM 31/2" but when it comes to a comfortable grip the SnG has a slight advantage for me. When I chock up on the blade the Hinderer will bite you if your not careful as the edge of the grind starts right at the front of the choil. Guess I could stone the point off of it and bleed less.

Absolute no clue on any of that imgur or bbcode ???? I'm just a caveman set in my caveman ways. For me to understand that you'd have to explain it to me like I was a 10 year old. Wait, lower that number as my 10 year old explains this computer stuff to me.

No worries about PTs being scarce. If Mick doesnt want to make enough to keep the usual suppliers in stock the market will adjust...
Im going with this bad boy for a small overbuilt... the ZT0900

Your absolutely right about that, go with the market. I guess I was cutting things before any of them came along and I'll be cutting tomorrow.
