Are there production SnG Gen6's and/or SmF Gen2's made with just a beadblasted blade finish or are they all either tigerstriped or otherwise graphically finished? I've been searching everywhere and can't seem to find a plain finished blade. Also, does anyone have any pics of a PT in their hand for size reference that they would be willing to post or link? I can't find anything to show the relative size of a PT except with other Striders, and since I've never handled one, they don't help really. Any help would be appreciated, Strider-itis is starting to creep over me...must...resist...temptation...

I cant say that I have seen a SNG or SMF with a plain blade, but I did see where a guy took a green scotch bright pad to the blade, didnt look bad.

you can actually order a bead blasted blade.... but it'll cost extra.. i dont know how much. as far as the pt is concerned... its neat but really small... get an sng, i did...i think they're a good size... but i still think i should have listened to LaBella and got myself an smf... next time.

You can pay $5.00 to your local bead blaster and have your Strider textured to your liking -

Or purchase a can of hot rod primer / dull black paint and address the blade yourself -

Or send off to gunsmith or firm specializing in teflon finishes and such...look online for options -

Creativity is often times more rewarding than what comes from the shop.

Duh on my part; I totally forgot about the PT!! I used to have one.....But then he mentioned the SNG & SMF......

Sorry Cliffr, i never succeed to post pics. It would'nt help you anyway 'cause my hand size may not be your's.
What i advise you to do is to get the specs , report the dimensions on a board, draw approximately the knife, cut up the drawing and fit it.
That's what i did and i bought the PT,but that's me, only me.
It will take you time but who wants to mistake about a 300 or 400 USD knife?

Ask and ye shall receive....

Here's a picture of a Benchmade 707 in the hand (left side) and a PT in the hand (right side).

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the responses guys, I appreciate the help. Now that I've seen the PT in someones hand, wow, it's SMALL. Thanks for the pic Starfish. And combining that with ajnova's side by side by side I can actually get an idea as to size perspective on these three knives. The SmF isn't looking all that big after all, but the price just JUMPS with each model. tonyccw I can't believe that all that blade coating came off with just a scotchbrite, water, and elbow grease after 30 minutes! It looks great. I really don't like coated blades, I actually have a MT that I don't carry pretty much for that reason. I may just have to start selling my poor excuse for a collection in order to scrape up the dough for a SnG or SmF by the spring. Thanks again.

could have been but easy to see why I forgot who posted it
Yeah, memory's not your strong suit. Now that you know, want to take back that compliment? :p

Email me if you have any questions. It's a fairly simple mod.

My memory is just fine on important things, who took stripes off a knife isn’t really in a category that I consider important. IF I would have remember it was you I still would have posted the info, because it was relevant in this case regardless of the source.

Interesting how I am not supposed to be banned over there, but my account ceased to work within minutes of my comments to you, and Eric wont respond to my emails. At least have the sack to say I was banned so I didn’t piss off your precious foreign members.

A few things on that
Don’t have a scroll visible on your avatar and then be surprised when you get a response like I gave you.

You say your info is based on company research in preparation for investing. My info is based from a person that writes reports for our government at very high levels. Who am I going to take more serious, someone who is trying to make a buck, most likely at the expense of this country, or someone who has and is serving their country now with the countries best interest at heart?

Also even I know that all caps is considered yelling, just making script bigger because you obviously are not readying it, is just that using a lager font. Like I would want to yell at a screen.:jerkit:

Psst also it’s not a democracy a Republic

Quite welcome. You're right, it is small, but it's not SMALL. Yes, it's the same size as the 707 in terms of length, but it's much beefier in the hand and has a more substantial blade. The finger cutout on the blade also helps to get a good grip on the knife. As someone I know once said, "it may be small, but it's all Strider all the time" :).

I carry mine as an office EDC, and it works great for that. If it was the only knife I could carry, I still wouldn't feel underknifed! ;)

I guess the fact that "over there" is going through maintenance wouldn't have any impact on the admin's ability to respond to your urgent e-mails....? The rest of your quote was really out of line...:thumbdn:
