Picked this up from a reputably scoring member around Xmas and I've been out of the Strider game about 3 years. My Strider cataloging skills are rusty but the swedge grind is throwing me as is the etched stone wash. Seems like the dlc blade finish on the flats was scotch brite belt ground to clean metal, as the STRIDER logo is almost gone. I've attempted to catch the nuances in photos. Weight is 121.5g and overal feel is dead solid.

So, what is it?

Looks off to me but I'm no strider expert. But looking at mine in is way differant. Did previous owner do mods to it maybe?

Pretty sure this was a normal production SnG that was reground and refinished by Razor-Edge-Knives. I think I remember seeing it in the album of his work.

Oh, it's a real Strider.
Looks like someone tried to make a regrind to the blade and then polish the flats and blast the grinds.
I can only guess you got it at a really, really, really good price.

Doesn't look like any production or custom Strider that I have ever seen.
If it were modified by someone aftermarket, that may explain it.

Warranty is void if it is a real one that has been reground, Hopefully whoever did that did not burn the heat treat off the knife, if you want a Strider that actually has that grind Mick makes a Dagger grind that is very similar.

It's legit, not a fake =) Yes I did that one. Actually, that was one of the first bi-tone regrinds I had done from about 1-2 years ago. The flats were hand rubbed w/ sandpaper, not a scotch brite belt. And yes, the warranty is void due to the mods/regrind.

MAYBE it has a voided warranty.. Josh from Strider came across like if the work was done nicely enough they would still warranty it. Especially for non grind related problems, I wouldn't send a broken regrind related issue in for service. AND I've heard this Josh guy from REK does AMAZING work so it shouldn't be an issue depending on what mood Josh@Strider is in that day.YMMV

I like it too. It's an edc.

As a knifemaker, I'd say REK has skills. Properly executed.

I was not worried given the seller rating.
