Anyone know where I could get a few replacement screws for a Gen 6 Strider SNG? I know Strider doesn't send replacement parts but it seems kind of silly to send a $500 knife on the mail to Strider for a set of replacement screws. I would be willing to pay for the replacements just don't want to send it in. I know Strider is busy and it seems like a waste of their time for something that I could do at home in 30 seconds. Thanks.
 
Yeah, just send it in. I know it seems like a poor use of their time in this particular case since you could do it yourself, but I'm sure they have the policy because it saves them time in the long run (due to not getting packages with knives that are disassembled, damaged, missing parts, etc. due to people's improper/incompetent attempts at repair or part replacement).
 
I lost a clip screw on my SnG and found a replacement at my local ACE Hardware. It is stainless steel but it was the proper fit.
 
I think it becomes a liability issue for the knife makers if they send parts out and you incorrectly repair the knife and get hurt in the process or just after when using the knife.

They take the opportunity to look the entire knife over when you send it in to make sure it is still operating "within specs".

I HATE sending knives in - so I agree with you - but you also don't want to do anything to void the warranty, especially with Striders - they ain't cheap!!!
 
Hey, guys I live in Russia and I've got more than 30 Strider folders. I use almost all of them and periodically do the ordinary maintenance by myself. Some screws need to be replaced soon. In Russia we use metric system and there is no a hardware store to sell torx screws. I do appreciate your help with that site http://www.fastener-express.com but I totally messed up with the sizes. Could you just tell me what exact screws will fit my AR liner lock model Please let me know.
 
I think they will send a clip screw but not regular screws. I asked Josh a while back.
