I am debating on a Strider SMF or Chris Reeve Large Sebenza. What would you recommend and why? It will be used for an occasional edc. So far I think that the Seb is a cool proven knife which is very practical for an edc. The SMF is a cool looking knife which gives the wow factor just from looking at it. Not sure which route to go.

You can't lose either way, both knives are proven performers so get the one you like the best.

Wow - you're comparing a Ferrari and a Hummer. Two distinctively different knives with very different ergonomics.

If you want tough, no frills heavy duty beat em up action then I say go for the Strider.

If you want a working knife that isn't afraid of getting dirty but looks good while doing it then the Sebenza.

I own a SmF DGG and a large Sebenza (with graphic, not inlays). I edc the Sebenza during the week in a calfskin slipcase in my pocket. I edc the SmF nights and weekends for the ugly stuff.

They are both great knives, and if you get one and it's not floating your boat you can always find a buyer for it (at a little loss).

Keep in mind, that "Wow" factor can be unwanted at times. A "Wow!" to you might be an "OMGWTFBBQ!" to the person watching you cut a string off your shirt or open mail. Just sayin'.

If you're looking at these two knives, you are already in trouble. Just get both, and throw a Hinderer XM-18 in there as well, for good measure.
