Getting ready to purchase a couple of new blades and one of the knives I am thinking about is the Strider "Stonewashed" SNG w/ Black G-10 handle, and would like to hear some opinions on this knife from you folks that have owned one.

I have the SnG CC and the PT CC, both are really great knives. They were really sharp out of the bag. I was surprised at how comfortable the handle feels.

I just received an FNH/SnG and have a Coyote Brown FFG SnG incoming. You will love the SnG.

I really like the SNG, I only wish it were available in left handed models. I had a few SMF's but they were just too bulky.

If your gonna get one i would go with a CC personally..i feel the regular lego ones are a bit blocky for my tastes..YMMV

If you have average size hands the SNG will fit you hand great. If, however,

you have big hands like I do the SMF will fiit hand Much Better. I dont mind

the SMF for pocket carry at all. I sold an SNG because the handle and

blade was too Small for me.

The cc model of whichever model you choose is more comfortable.

Striders are Very Overpriced. Dealers pay 1/2 of retail....I dont think a

Striders are worth what they cost. I have 2.

I owned two and sold them both eventually. Pretty good knives but I think they are overpriced. My second SnG had a terrible edge from the factory. Also didn't care for the sub par customer service.

Their warranty is pretty crazy and they will replace or fix your knife for damn near any reason. Just don't modify or it will void the warranty. If you want that level of insurance on your folder then Strider is a good choice.

You might want to check out the FNH/SnG. It's CC, Concealed Carry, Stonewashed and just plain badazz.

Well i recently bought a Sng DGG $ 500...and I feel robbed. That must be one of the most hyped blades in history. For that price you get a Sage 1, 2, a Spyderco Street Beat and an Endura...I have watched houers of reviews on Striders and all praise them as they were god send...what is so good about them I don´t get it. Yes they look cool but not $ 500 cool and yes they got a strong frame lock but com on...

Please don´t crucify me for badmouthing Striders lol.

I love my SnG
I think it has one of the best ergos of any pocket knife out there. They are not for everyone. I would suggest that you handle one if you have never seen one, before you buy. And I would also look for one in the Buy/sell/trade section before you pay full price.
They have a great warranty just send it in with $15 usd and it will get back to you all fixed up, it just might take awhile, The longest wait for me was a month to get it back. But I did send it in right before the blade show.

I have been to folder insanity and back. I know good folders and Strider is at the Top. Like anything else, it has to be for you though.

I got one model you described this week. I really like it. I have medium hands and it fits well. The fit and finish is great. They come with a very good warranty.

I've got both an SNG that's had some custom work done to it, and a standard SMF, that I've recently acquired. Yes, they are a little blocky, but honestly, that works for me. I find that their design provides a very sure grip in any method, from fencing to reverse and everything in between, and it is, as they so frequently advertise, pretty easy to operate even with gloves on. Which model you choose is up to your personal size preference (and budget), as the SMF feels significanly larger in your hand (and wallet), and it's spine is just a bit thicker. They're both pretty bomb proof, and if you somehow manage to jack one up, it isn't like Strider won't have your back on it. Personally I'm biased a bit toward carrying the SMF, as I'm one of those "in case of emergency" kind of guys, but I feel like most people seem to prefer the SNG for every-day purposes. You probably won't regret purchasing any of the models (though the gunner grip may very well eat through a few of your pockets...), but the best option, I must confess, is to find a way to put one in your hand before you purchase it. Gun and knife shows are a good place to do this. Unfortunately, I understand how hard they can be to come by in any forum other than the internet, so sometimes this isn't so easy to accomplish. In any event, they have my vote. I love my SNG, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to you. But then I'm sure there are plenty of blokes on here who'd tell you they're overpriced and overrated. Your call.
Be advised, they do have a bit of a "break-in" period. Search the term "Strider thumb." ;)

Really (no offense intended, of course) you could just search this topic, as it's been discussed a million times on here, but hey, I always appreciate an opportunity to chime in ;)

You really can't go wrong getting a Strider, they are that good. :)

I have a DDC SnG CC that is a joy to carry and use and it takes and keeps a razors edge. However size wise I prefer the SMF or FL-AR for EDC.

Striders are good knives, but I really don't see the value. I liked my SMF fine, but traded it without regret when I found something nicer.

I have held the SnG in hand before, regular block/Lego one, CC, and Double Gunner Grip.

In order I like the DG, CC, and then the original production Lego model.

If you are going to buy a Strider I'd go used.
In hand I don't quite feel $400-500 of knife, but depending how hard you use your knives there may be another level of appreciation I could not reach.

I've gone through quite a few folders in my time and I've basically settled on about four that I use regularly for different purposes.

The SnG is almost always in my pocket when I'm working around the property. It fits in my pocket, it fits my hand well and provides an extremely secure grip and it survives the sometimes heavy duty things I expect it to do without any problems.

Having said that, they will not be for everyone and not necessarily suitable for all occasions.
