Strider Tarani...ID Help Needed...

The standard 889 was sold in OD Green, Tan, and Black color's. There was also an LE with MP Blade and Ironwood handle. When the Buck/Stirder venture ended these were sold off as a list special for $50 each. At the price these pull in these days on the auction site......I wish I had bought a truck load of them;)

Yes, it's almost scary what they are going for:eek:
after going back to the BCCI site and looking more closely at 2007, then 2006, I see the differences more clearly now...Mine is a 889, the 882's are serrated...
an awesomely robust knife in any case, and this one is going to be fun to use...

Thanx all.......

You are right, i thought the blades where different lengths. Its a heck of a knife, i carry one often.

Your knife, SitFlyer.......has a great patina after all it's been through.

It looks used but ready for many more years of use.

Can't fake that look........it's always earned.

I had two of the ATS-34s that Wal-Mart sold cheap on close-out.

Gave one away to a friend and sold the other for three times what I paid for it.

Thus ended my Strider years.

:)

Thanx BG, and this one sure did earn it's stripes! After all it's been through its as solid as a rock...a testament to Buck's quality, and the design. Being non serrated is a big plus for me as well. And for a net cost of abut 15 bucks, I didn't do too bad...mathematically speaking of course;)

You have to wonder about some knives.

The Tarani and the folding Kalinga Pro come to mind. Why did they quit making them? They didn't sell well enough?

People sure like them now and will pay high prices to get them.

Odd how that works sometimes.
