Strider thumbstud, is it reversible ?

Just got my new Buck Strider from a fellow forumite, and it appears to be a truly awesome knife!
The only problem I have with it is the one thumbstud, as I'm left handed. I could of course just wrist flick the knife open when I wanted to use it, but I prefer not to do this, even with the massive Strider.

So, it appears that the thumbstud is at least reversible, but I would like to hear from someone who knows for sure before I start trying to change it around.

Any help greatly appreciated.

The answer is yes, a blow drier focused on it seems to help make it easier to remove. Oh, and if you don't mind a smoother surface on the handle, reverse the handles to get a lefty clip.

Good deal...I can't imagine why Buck didn't put dual thumbstuds on this knife...anyone know why that is ?

At any rate, I guess I need a set of torx bits to get this thing reversed, so I'm off to home depot for a better set than I have now.

BTW Mike O,

That's a great looking Strider you've made for yourself there. Your handle has a profile like my BM Ares, and I like the reprofiled blade also. Are the scales on yours just reversed factory G10 scales that you reprofiled ?

Thanks.

Mikemck, thanks, Yes, I just turned them around and inlayed the ironwood.
