Striders anyone?

Cliff,
I agree with you about the angle/sharpness theory, but....... Just how sharp could you make a 90deg angle??

I'm exagerating, SLIGHTLY, but you have to see the point edge on the knife! As I mentioned above, I don't mind this because it's definately intended for EXTREME use. I think it's part of what makes the knife unique.

Neil, the WB I have according to Mick Strider has the same geometry as the folder. As to how sharp I could make a 90, well about as sharp as I could do anything else. I am not R. J. Martin, but I can do ok.

I use really obtuse bevels (60-70) on a regular basis for people who tend to bang blades around. They are not the primary edge grind, just a secondary one for reinforcement, but the principle is the same.

I wish I could make a knife as sharp as some of the 90 degree angles that have slashed open my flesh.
Your revues flatter us.
Thank you

I like the knife. It is the most solid folder I think I have ever seen. Very strong. I tend to prefer my knives scary sharp, but this will get the job done and is tough to boot. I would really like to see one with the blade of the MT model, for those of us who aren't tanto fanatics.

Shootist,

I agree with you. I just picked up a Strider MT, and would love to see this blade style available on the folder, which also arrived in the mail today.

This dialogue is just priceless...

Anyone put one of these through its paces yet??? I know it is hard as these will be collectables and we may never know just how the BG-42 really performed.

However these knives perform in the field, I am totaly overwhelmed at how they performed in the market. I had 15 of them delivered on the 17th of April and was sold out by the first week in May

I was able to dredge up 4 more today but it looks like that's it. The supply has been depleted already in this area.

The funny thing is, when I showed the knife to customers and mentioned the price, ($190.00)the first thing they said was: "That's a lot of money for a Buck Knife".

However, after I handed it to them and explained the design history, origin and features, the tune changed. I have never had a knife that was so easy to sell. I wish I had ordered more of them.

CJ, your folks at the plant are to be congratulated. Nice job.
