Striders in hand/strider alternatives

millies are cool, i have had several, but they dont imho compare well to a SnG, really a millie is a bigger albeit thinner knife, quite a bit thinner, longer blade too, right at 4" (compared to an SnG), but the SnG is a lot thicker and more robust, looking anyway, i have always worried about the thin liner on a millie but ya rarely hear of probs, they are both good knives, i would be more likely to edc an SnG though vs a millie, but a millie aint bad,.

I EDC a Strider SnG in dress pants pocket in an office situation - it is very comfortable and I do not notice the weight. The blade is the perfect size for me, and I prefer a choil that is part of the blade to avoid accidental closure if the lock fails.

Make sure you pick a good Victorinox or Wenger to piggyback in case you have to pull in public - the tiger stripes tend to make some uneasy...:D

I won't be getting a striped blade I'm going to get stone washed finished all around.
I am now debating between a SNG and a large regular Sebenza.

I couldn't bring myself to buy a Strider without the tiger stripes.

I handled a small and large sebenza and watched all the reviews before going with the Strider SnG.

I am HARD on knives and tools, and one of the biggest turn offs about the sebenza was the fact that you are warned that opening the blade too hard will void the warranty. Sebenza seemed to be more of a gentlemans folder, where the Strider was more along the lines of a hard use tool.

As soon as I got the Strider home (I had it delivered to work) I started hacking on scrap lumber and stabbing it in cardboard. I couldnt picture doing that with the sebenza.

Be warned - everyone I let hold the Strider wanted to flick it open hard. :D

Just brought home a Tiger Striped SMF -- big knife, but the cutting edge is no longer than that on my Ritter Griptilian, which is lighter and more compact when closed; alas, the SMF won't be an EDC.

That said, the SMF seems to be fairly bullet-proof and will be a great tool. It will probably be carried in lieu of a fixed blade because once locked, this knife feels fixed.

Yeah after a little thinking I've decided on a strider SNG.
Though I still have to decide between a CC or a normal one.

So guys do you think there would be any noticeable difference in strength between a CC and a normal one.
Is a CC noticeably thinner, is it worth the extra money?

imho the best looking finish is the digicam, it looks funky in photos though ya just have to actually see it to appreciate it, much better than stripes,

CC definitely carries nice, but a full size works too. I have both, the CC for play (suit) and the regular for work (Force 10's). With regard to strength issues, I've yet to hear of a lock failure on either the CC or regular. And digi-cam is the heat as SIFU1A says.

Matador-
