Striders - SMF CPM 3v or SNG in S110V

Jim - what do you recommend I use on this thing to touch up the edge?

I only have one diamond rod, and it's a freehand deal.

My Sharpmaker has the ceramic - but I read somewhere that the S110V is actually harder than the ceramic.

I haven't tried anything yet.

S110V isn't that hard. :D

Sharpmaker will touch up the edge, just match the bevels.

This is where I read it - post #5

I read elsewhere that the Spyderco ceramic rods are made of aluminum oxide with a hardness of 9.5, and will sharpen pretty much anything except carbide tools.

Not sure what's right or wrong - once my S110V starts to show signs of needing touch up I plan on using the ceramic rods.

Yeah, don't let it get dull or you will be hating life....

Do light touch ups every now and then on the ceramics and that will last you for a very, very long time before it will ever need a new edge.

There actually isn't any contradiction between what we've been saying in this thread and what the guy in post #5 said. He was referring to the hardness of the Vanadium carbides in the steel, not the hardness of the steel as a whole.
