I just got a used Strider PT. Its a awsome little knife but the pivot is stripped and I cant loosen it from fear of stripping it anymore. Also the small little ball in between the frame lock and the blade tang is warn down a lot. In your experiences with strider's warranty would they fix those problems? or at least loosen the pivot for me?

Send her in, Mick and Co. will take good care of her.

A short letter describing the problems wouldnt hurt either ;-)

Lets say I happen to live like 5 minutes from there... could I take it and have them loosen it really fast??? That would be much easier. And since this is my first strider I don't wanna ship it out for 2 weeks just yet.

I remember reading that they don't like walk-in customers. Simply because the shop is not set up like a storefront operation, it's just a shop.
You can certainly call ahead and ask if you can drop it off, that might work!

Call them first, I have heard that if you call first and ask about coming in, they are usually pretty cool about it..

Ask for Josh

Is that the location that they also make he knives? and would they be able to change out that little ball berring? Like is it possible or would you need to change the whole titanium frame side? email replied to with a question.

You are talking about a detent ball, yes they should be able to replace it. That is a very common issue with frame locks and liner locks. No need to change the Ti lock, if they did the cost would mostly be on you. That is more than likely considered normal wear and tear (not usually covered under warranty).

They are going to charge you to replace the pivot.
The detent ball is probably ok they all get a little flat, it's normal.
I would not get my feelings hurt if they don't respond quickly. I have always had luck getting a hold of them on Wednesdays. Ask for Heather or Josh

The person who sold it to you didn't heat up the Loc Tight before trying to loosen it....

They are going to charge you to fix it because of that.

I guess Ill just keep it the way it is. Just seems like it needs to be loosened because Its already broken in so i think because of the ball being warn down.

Do you think there is really any need for a new pivot? or is it worth paying for it? do you know how much they would go for?

Do most people buy a strider and never adjust the pivot? because If so then mabey ill just leave the pivot stripped in the original position.
