Stripped!! My first busse

That looks great! I love how you just got this bad boy and are able to jump right in...use it, strip it, etc.....Even after owning a few Busse knives, I am still so hesitant to use anything for the first time. Giving me courage to just dive in and beat up something still unused. Well done all around.

So no stripper at all? Just scrape with a razor, and clean up with Scotch Brite?

That's hard core. Outstanding work.:cool:

Mine don't look that good after paint stripper and power tools.

Thanks man!
Yeah I figured I would have no way of knowing how great the knife is if I didn't test/use it.

NO OFFENCE (to anyone) regarding this next statement:

-when I called Busse to order the BM-LE (still waiting on it), I told the girl on the phone that it was probably going to be a safe queen, as I did buy another one (the knife above). She proceeded to tell me I should never buy a Busse and have it as a safe queen.

After thinking about it, I realized she was right. Why would I buy a combat knife that is the strongest in the world and not use it??

In respect to your knives, consider that for a very small fee (especially in respect to the initial cost of a Busse), you can send it back to Busse and have your knife sent back to you BRAND NEW.

You are paying the premium high cost for a world class knife, insured against breakage, and to have it refurbished if need be. I would never take advantage of a private company like Busse, but I have no problem sending my knife to them (at my expense), and I am sure they don't mind either. I would never try to put my knife through a brick wall and make a warranty claim if I broke it.

Like I said, no offence to anyone. Everyone is different and people have all kinds of things they want to do with their knives, from collecting to smashing a toaster into rubble :)

I think you should go have fun with one of the knives. If you regret it, spend a few bucks and send it to Busse. Trust me man, you will not regret it. I've never had so much fun with a knife and I didn't even roll an edge. They are amazing!!!

Here is the trick:

1.Use a sharp razor. I had to use 2.

2.Then use a tough scotch bright pad-- buy one with an attached handle so you can get a lot of leverage.

3. Use the softest scotch bright pad you can get and go over it A TONNE.

Took about 3-3.5 hours.

The blade was in mint condition with NO pitting----- hahaha just kidding no DIMPLES.

Hows that thing holding up to our tough canadian weather?? My next purchase is gonna be twards a busse chopper!!! Maybe a FBM LE:)

Oh and I guess I'll answer your question lol: it's holding up great! This knife is absolutely indestructible. I am way in the remote north (Moosonee), almond with the other things I smashed, I chiselled through about a foot of ice. The mistress was throwing ice around like a polar bear...

Thanks man!

Ahh....didn't mean to make it sound like I have NEVER used one of my Busse's. A few of mine have definitely seem some heavy use, although I do probably own more safe queens than users. But, I appreciate the encouragement....probably have at least one less safe queen by the end of the week :)

Oh BTW if you want me to Ghetto Satin (lol) one of yours I certainly can. That goes for anyone else as well. I won't charge anyone for it. I actually enjoyed doing it.
