Stripped my NMSFNO and Tank Buster

I did not take before photos of the NMSFNO but here are 2 shots of the before Tank Buster(middle)

I used a Chemical stripper and then polished the blade by hand using metal polish.

I have about 1 hour into each blade I suspect....or less.

Not going to get these any better than this-as these are USERS.

Both came out better than expected.

Looking really good. What type of metal polish did you use? Brasso or something? What brand of stripper too?

Thanks for all the kind words

There are Infi Dimples on the blade Flats

If you are considering stipping your Busse-GO AHEAD.

Make sure you get all the equipment laid out first
(Stripper,Gloves,eye protection,brush,etc)

I read several of the Blade Stripper posts before doing it---

I will never hold a candle to Horn Dog in the polishing dept--but I'm happy with the results

Looks great. Makes me think I should strip my Ash1CG today. I really need to get it done.

That looks pretty darn good.

I'm not sure if anyone has done that before, strip and go straight to metal polish without using sandpaper first. The full height grind on the NMSFNO helps, no dimples to worry about.

I did not use sandpaper at all

Just that polish and a rag after washing and brushing off the chemical stripper

That's the stripper I used on my BWM. Works great but with the full convex of the BWM I ended up doing a lot of hand sanding also. I might try the metal polish idea, I think 1500 grit paper was as far as I went.

Nice job indeed. So the coating remains under the scales, right?

Tank Buster isn't a convex is it? Doesn't look like it.

I spent a lot of time on the blade and almost no time on the pommels(with the metal polish)

There is still some coating on the NMSFNO pommel that refuses to come off(lest I sand it)

Yes-Coating is under the scales and the TB is not conxex.Going to have the edge thinned out.

I did this stripping job to improve cutting abaility....they both came out better looking than expected.

That's a beautiful job William! I have a tanker grey 'buster I was thinking of stripping, your post just pushed me over the edge. :)
