I just prefer the look of bare INFI to painted. No, it doesn't pay, it costs! Time, sanding belts, buffing wheels, paint stripper. That's why I was so excited when the CE versions were announced. But this CG was what I could get, so I stripped it. I am pretty sure that the blades are coated before the scales are attached, so I guess the coating is still there. It wouldn't make any sense to attach the handles and then have to mask them to apply the coating. I used the new Klean Strip aerosol paint stripper I got at Walmart. It works in 15 minutes.
