Stripped TGLB

That will definitely tell you if its decarb or not, INFI doesn't take a cold blue very easily. At least the old stuff doesn't.

By the way sir, I recently recieved a couple Busses off the exchange that came with your leather. I'm a kydex guy and a bender, but I must say, you do excellent work sir!!

Gotta see that. I've never seen anyone blue a busse. Pics!!!!!

I blued a NMSFNO :) and posted pics.

Not sure about the old stuff but my NMSFNO took it just fine ? :)

Now I have a project. That blue job looks really cool. Thanks for Sharing the pics. When I get my tglb its gonna get stripped and blued. Very cool...

I used the birchwood casey cold blue they sell at walmart or a gun store :)

I can pretty much guarantee the steel is blasted to remove the decarb before painting. Otherwise the paint won't adhere properly and rust will form under it.

Thank you Dave. I have OxphoBlue from Brownells on hand, I may try that...

IMHO OxphoBlue is the best. If you can heat up the metal slightly with a heat gun before application it will work even better. I'm sure the blade is already thoroughly degreased from what you say.

Brownells 44-40 is good stuff too, and doesn't require a water rinse afterwards, but I find it to be much more of a matte finish than OxphoBlue.

Would love to see the finished product.

That looks incredible, I can only imagine what it looks like in person.
Any affect on the Micarta?
