It looks good the way it is, but I think the final answer depends on how you are going to use it. If it is a day hiker and you not be using it for messy wet chores, leave it.
If you are going to camp with it and be out a few days at a time in damp weather chopping wet wood, using it for a cooking utensil, maybe cutting up some smaller game, then you will appreciate the coating.
I really like the high carbon steels a lot for lot of reasons. They are what I grew up with and were my first knives. But it sucks to have to take special care of your knife to keep it from rusting in the sheath, rusting overnight because you didn't catch the mist that got on it. Nothing beats finding your knife covered with a rusty sludge that was inside the sheath that held a bit of water.
For overnighters, it is easy enough to take a little WD40 cloth soaked rag and wipe it off after using it on wet stuff or food prep. Same with car camping. Same with using a knife like that in a hunting camp.
But personally, for two or three days out, I'll take a coated carbon steel knife or stainless and forget about the knife care. I really like my equipment for its utility value, and don't want to add anything else to my watch list or to do list when I am out.
