Any idea why the steel on the HG55 has that bronze burnt look to it?

Res C is pretty impervious to chemicals. It is not like kraton. The tape residue should come off with some solvent.

Nice job on the stripping,I had a Green B11 & the coating came right off like yours did with a nice satin finish underneath,but one side of the ricaso had dimples & the other was satin.
I prefer the dimples......

WD-40 will get the goo off the handle too & smells better than most solvents.

In general, WD40 seems to be a safe gum/gunk remover...;-)

I did my 411 with kleen strip and not 1 problem ...go for it!
