Stripping my BK7: Chemicals?

Bronze wire wheel on a bench grinder. Takes about 90 seconds to completely strip a BK9. Took longer to remove/replace the scales than it did to strip it.
 
Citrus Strip, lather it all over the blade and let sit for 24 hours and the paint almost falls off.
