Stripping the coating off your INFI.

Awesome on the SS4, so we all know micarta is impervious to chemical strippers, how did the Resiprene C hold up? If there's no issue I may do this asap, since I hate getting coating on my waterstones.

I totally spaced on thinking about protecting the res-c on my scrapper 4. after letting it sit for a half hour with the 15-min stripper formula, I just wiped off all the coating, and the res-c was completely unharmed even after sitting with the stripper on it. If anything, it just made it cleaner. :thumbup: No worries as far as I can tell.

dpimpc is right.. Res-C wasn't affected by stripper at all.
In fact i prolly did more damage to the Res-C with my polishing wheel when i was polishing blade near the handle.

great info guys:thumbup: now i have a small project to do with my ss4.i too am a little worried about the handle area. will just be extra carefull there and will also wrap handle in duct tape:D
 
have a look at just about any of my knives and you will find almost all have been strpped and polished, its not hard..... i just finished sanding the corragations down a bit on my fbm.... fun stuff
