Strongest harduse folder under $140?

hows the coating hold up on the 030x?

Getting one is long overdue for me, Just not a big blade coating guy.

Looking forward to the HEST Folder, but for hard use under $140, I would say the Manix 2 from Spyderco. Under 90 @ knifecenter.com and 154 CM with full body jimping, great G-10 and awesome Lock.

How about a carpenters knife. I hear they are pretty good for hard use. Usually for 5 bucks or less, and replaceable blaze no less.

The Manix 2 lock is nowhere near as strong as the ZT or CS with Triad as Ankerson proved in his testing.

In addition to the Tri-Ad stuff and the ZT stuff (I like the ZT 0400 myself), you could also look at the Spyderco Chinook....or original Manix or Mini-Manix if you can find one....or even a BM 710 D2 companion for your 710. Not too keen on the blade of most of the Tri-Ads (coating, lack of jimping).

For $140 you can get a Tops/BUCK CSAR-t, a full tank of gas and a nice steak dinner.

And have enough money left over to buy a prybar.;)

I never heard of that knife before, very interesting as far as the prybar, not something I intend to do with a folder or most any knife My biggest requirements are lock strength if stabbed into something and pivot strength for wood carving.
