Strop chipped my Cryo ?

I may have figured this all out... His strop was made from Hulk-skin! Boom, answer. We can all go home now. :D

And yes, please keep it civil. bad_juju wasn't at all being a troll, and the only thing his post demonstrated was that he was trying to avoid any kind of confrontation. C'mon man, it's the Internet, and this is about a $30 knife. No need for multi-colored hostility. Have you even contacted Kershaw yet?

Yep I type "You should have just asked that question in the first place" when trying to avoid any kind of confrontation. I also accuse the poster of get mad at everybody.
" I am sorry if you read my or anyone else's posts in a negative manner."
" I am not here to pick on you, nor are the others."
what others ? why make it seem like me vs you guys?
on top of that I make sure to repeat the same info over and over in every post that the poster has already decided to not listen to
"I suggest you should call kershaw customer service" 2nd post
"as I previously stated please contact customer service" 3rd post
Why is it so hard to understand that I might not want to spend money and time to return a <$25 knife, when I can first find out if it's a common problem ? Which it is, 90% of cryo are missing metal in the same spot I am missing metal now.
Regular Gandi I guess our meanings of "avoid any kind of confrontation" differ. I say only a lair could every say with a straight face that when talking about ANY knife problem it would be helpful to ask "does it still cut"

Here's my Cryo right up against the choil. I've stropped the blade a few times (haven't had to resharpen yet), and the knife has seen some moderate use. It is rounded off, but it looks like it was ground that way, not a result of chipping.

honestly I dont think it was chipped. I think the OP didnt notice that that particular part of the blade was never fully sharpened to begin with. This is such a common occurrence that you would probably find this on 3 out of 5 production knives. My guess is after stropping during a more thorough inspection that area was noticed.

Alright... I would have stayed out of this, except for the fact that my phone buzzed and woke me up because you sent me an email at 1:20AM to complain to me. For everyone's amusement, here's the text of said email that woke me up in the middle of the night:
Email W/ Subject "REALLY?" said:
"And yes, please keep it civil. bad_juju wasn't at all being a troll, and the only thing his post demonstrated was that he was trying to avoid any kind of confrontation. "

REALLY ? ? ?

"You should have just asked that question in the first place."
that's the smart ass answer I give when trying avoid any type of confrontation, and keep repeating myself. Didn't matter what I ask is all you respond is "does it still cut"

So here's what I have to say about your terribly pressing issue that cannot go unargued until normal hours when people are not trying to sleep.

what others ? why make it seem like me vs you guys?
Sorry pal, but that's all on you. You want to play the hysterical victim, well you've succeeded with the hysterical part.

on top of that I make sure to repeat the same info over and over in every post that the poster has already decided to not listen to
Oh we all listened. We gave you the proper answer. Your unwillingness to accept it is all on you sir.

Why is it so hard to understand that you should just call customer service, tell them your issue, and send in your $25 (when it's actually closer to $30) and get a replacement. Issue solved.

Which it is, 90% of cryo are missing metal in the same spot I am missing metal now.
Straight up, that's a lie. My Cryo was hammered into the back of a cabinet to cut a hole out. Hammered, with an actual hammer. I've sharpened it on my Edge Pro Apex, and strop it all the time. Mine has not a single chip nor blunted tip (after being hammered into wood), nor any kind of damage. It looks just like the above posted picture, where the ricasso is rounded, but no chip.

It's "Gandhi", by the way. And also....what?

I'll bet by now you still haven't called Kershaw. If you did, you'd see how nice they are and how willing they are to resolve your issue and have you be satisfied. Common issue? No, it's not. I've handled and stropped 3 Cryos, and not one of them had this chipping problem. Leather couldn't chip steel no matter how bad the heat treat was.

Call Kershaw, and don't send me a personal email again, I don't even know you. It's a bit creepy.
