Strop Cleaning?

My last foray into stropping . . . I always regret it afterward and wonder why I do it . . . I guess because I get caught up in the "Toothy Good / Must Strop Toothy" threads.

. . . anyway I finally get the diamond grit stirred up in the syringe enough to sort of poop out the tip; try to smooth out the gobs and get it to sort of spread on the smooth leather strop.
Greeeaaaaaaaat . . . well that didn't work. Take some half hearted swipes. Put strop away . . . get out Edge Pro . . . sharpen another knife to polished and hair whittling and kick back . . . satisfied.
Ahhhhhhhh that's more like it.

So my question is should I spray / spritz on some WD-40 to get the localized smears of diamond grit to spread over the surface of the smooth leather
or
petroleum jelly ?
or
give up stropping (again) ?
:D

PS : Should I hose the inside of the syringe containing the solidified diamond grit with WD-40 each time before attempting to push the stuff out ?

Heat? ^
Hair dryer?
Also, when you clean the strop as I outlined with the hand cleaner and hot water, in the morning you'll have a dry piece of leather screaming for any kind of a treatment.
I'd use cardboard but I guess I'm old school and I like that the leather holds up to repeated usage.

Kinda like the old adage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

YouTube is full of videos about Strop Cleaning in a variety of ways. In addition, you can do it yourself without any problems. Things are much worse with mold. I've been trying to get mold out of my attic space for a month!! Sadly, to no avail. In addition, there is very little information on the Internet about how to get rid of mold in such places. In general, I decided to leave this matter and call the experts in crawl space cleaning Seattle. These guys have professional skills, experience, and all the necessary equipment. That's why they did their job so quickly and efficiently. I decided not to try to do what I can't do anymore))
