I am not a pro what-so-ever, and dont have grinders or buffing wheels, so I use an old belt and some green Dialux compound post sharpening -and to maintain the edge before I need to sharpen again. I prefer this over a compounded jeans glued on a board, as the contact patch is a bit larger. I suppose that on a micro level, using a belt that's not 100% flat will create a micro convex. The results are satisfying to me.
