Rich - I have the ProCombo 10 leather hone from http://www.handamerican.com . I love it. It's sturdy and very well-built. It comes with several different grit powder compounds, but I found them to be extremely messy. I picked up a 4-pack of the different color/grit metal polishing compoung bars from the hardware store and use that instead of the powder. The Hand American hones are nice because they have both rough-side and smooth side leather in one package. I split my hone up into four "zones" and put a different grit compound in three of the zones. The fourth zone I left bare. Depending on how long it's been since I last stropped, I start with the rough side leather and the lowest grit compound and proceed through each zone/grit until I get to the highest grit compound on the smooth-side leather.
Using the hone has really cut down on the number of times I need to sharpen my knives. I usually hone them several times between sharpenings.
