Stubborn warp

You are cooling one side faster than the other and it is warping. It isn't the steel or the blade ... it's your technique. Let cool past black in the tongs or hang from a magnet strip near the forge. I have welding magnets sitting around to let blades hang vertical while they cool.

I agree that one side looks more tapered in the photo, but that should not be the issue. Just make sure you get it evened up in grinding.
